ACTOR & WRITER

Born in San Francisco, John pursed a theatrical career after a brief stint in the U. S. Air Force. Arriving in New York City, he studied at various insitituions; The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Bill Alderson’s Meisner Technique training class and Ann Jackson’s scene study class at HB Studios. John also trained as a filmmaker/Screenwriter at NYU TISCH in 1995 and also taught an introduction to screenwriting course at the FELT Theater School in 2012.

Performed in the Off-Broadway play, The Trial On The Potomac (staring Rich Little), as G. Gordon Liddy, which was also nominated for an OBIE Award for Best New Play in 2021. Also played King Henry in Henry IV Part 1 and Part 2 for Stag and Lion Theater Productions in the spring of 2022. Did the National Tour of The Man of LaMancha, along with Regional tours of A Christmas Carol and In the Shadow of the Glen. In 2012, John starred in the Off-Broadway production of Spring Awakenings, directed by Lenny Liebowitz and produced by Marvel Repertory. He also did One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, directed by Ezra Barnes at the Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, CT. The Curse of Booth, written and performed by John was first presented as a workshop production at EventBright NYU TISCH in 2013 and again presented at the famed Player’s Club in New York. John has performed numerous film and network television roles. Acted as lead council, James Neal, in George Bugatti’s, Watergate Secrets, Corruption, Collusion and Conspiracy in 2023. Received a Best Actor Nomination at the Domani Vision Film Festival for his role as the gunslinger in Contrition in 2011. Co-starred with Mike Burbiglia in the future film, Stanley Cuba. Has worked with Eric Roberts and Tony LoBianco in 79 Parts, which John also cowrote the screenplay. Performed as the doctor in MacBeth; A Cursed Film for Golden Grand Piano/Stag and Lion in 2020 and wrote and performed in the title role of John Wilkes Booth in the feature film, The Confession of John Wilkes Booth in 2021 with same said companies. Confession… is available on numerous streaming platforms. The screenplay of the live action version of Confession…titled, Thus Always to Tyrants was a semifinalist at the Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards. Other short films either written, produced, directed or starring John are - In The Field, Discarded, Psycho Babble (both on Amazon Prime), Turnpike and I Am Julia. All of which won various awards from numerous film festivals; International New York Film Festival, Houston Television and Film Festival, the South Carolina Film and Television Festival and The Chautauqua International Film Festival. Also wrote a novel titled, A Long Time Ago on the perils of Hollywood available on Amazon books. Lives in Brooklyn with his beloved wife Julie.
